"'You will be home for the holidays.' That’s what my housing manager said to me that kept me motivated at the hardest time of my life.
I never thought this could happen to me. I never thought me and my children would be homeless. My fifteen year career as a Certified Nursing Assistant enabled me to provide for my family.
Back-to-back car accidents changed all that. I was unable to work and I needed surgery. My money ran out before my disability kicked in. So, I got kicked out. I lost my apartment and the only option my children and I had was the Coalition.
As soon as I came in, my housing manager and I worked together to find us a place to live. That was September, and my case manager was right. By Thanksgiving, we were in our new home.
I am so thankful to the Coalition. I am thankful to all of you. Without generous people like you, my story would have turned out differently.
I stand in front of you today so excited to be back at work providing for my family. This was only possible through your support."
