Founded in 1921 as YWCC, Women's Residential and Counseling Center (WRCC) has evolved over the years to become an important resource for single moms who are homeless and/or the victims of domestic violence.
WRCC is a 138-bed facility, which includes emergency beds for victims of domestic abuse. Clients who live at WRCC are case managed, and have access to a wide variety of resources and services, including an on-site Early Childhood Development Center, counseling, and job placement.
Clients create a detailed self-sufficiency plan with their case manager, and build a savings account during their time at WRCC. Each client who lives at WRCC is required to have employment.
WRCC also operates a 24-hour crisis line for victims of crime – 407.425.1076. Last year, over 80 percent of the women who came to WRCC were victims of crime, predominantly domestic violence. A victim services program is located on-site, and is funded in part by the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) |
