Women’s Residential & Counseling Center and Victim Services Program

Founded in 1921 as YWCC, Women's Residential and Counseling Center (WRCC) has evolved over the years to become an important resource for single moms who are homeless and/or the victims of domestic violence.

WRCC is a 138-bed facility, which includes emergency beds for victims of domestic abuse. Clients who live at WRCC are case managed, and have access to a wide variety of resources and services, including an on-site Early Childhood Development Center, counseling, and job placement.

Clients create a detailed self-sufficiency plan with their case manager, and build a savings account during their time at WRCC. Each client who lives at WRCC is required to have employment.

WRCC also operates a 24-hour crisis line for victims of crime – 407.425.1076. Last year, over 80 percent of the women who came to WRCC were victims of crime, predominantly domestic violence. A victim services program is located on-site, and is funded in part by the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA)
