COALITION DECLARES TWO ‘COLD NIGHTS’ TO BETTER SERVE HOMELESS MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN

ORLANDO, Fla. — (February 25, 2010)—Due to forecasted low temperatures, Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida has declared Thursday, February 25, 2010 a "Cold Night." This means that the Coalition will not refuse any person seeking shelter from the cold, regardless of space.

On the Coalition's Main Campus, the Pavilion facility for single men can hold up to 375 individuals; and the Center for Women and Families accommodates up to 240 men, women and children on an average night. Overflow space will be available in these facilities for people seeking shelter from the extreme cold temperatures.

In addition to the Coalition's Main Campus, the Women's Residential and Counseling Center Campus (WRCC), which normally accommodates up to 138 women and children, will provide shelter in its recreation room. Single women and women with children are welcome at WRCC; all are welcome at the Coalition's Main Campus.

The Coalition for the Homeless is located at 639 West Central Boulevard, and the Women's Residential and Counseling Center is located at 107 East Hillcrest Street, both in Downtown Orlando.
