COALITION DECLARES 'COLD NIGHTS' TO BETTER SERVE HOMELESS MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN

ORLANDO, Fla. — (February 15, 2007) — Due to forecasted low temperatures, Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida has declared Thursday, February 15, 2007 a "Cold Night." This means that the Coalition will not refuse any person seeking shelter from the cold, regardless of space.

The Coalition's Pavilion facility for single men can hold up to 375 individuals, and the Center for Women and Families can accommodate more than 240 men, women and children. Overflow spaces will be available for people seeking shelter from the extreme cold temperatures.

In addition to the Coalition's Main Campus, the Women's Residential and Counseling Center Campus (WRCC), which can house more than 138 individuals, will provide shelter in its recreation room. Single women and women with children are welcome at WRCC; all others are welcome at the Coalition's Main Campus.

The Coalition for the Homeless is located at 639 West Central Boulevard, and the Women's Residential and Counseling Center is located at 107 East Hillcrest Street, both in Downtown Orlando.
