How We Help
The Coalition prides itself on its ability to keep families together during their time of crisis. In fact, we are one of the few emergency shelters in the area that accepts intact families. In addition to shelter and nutritious meals, homeless families at the Coalition work with a case manager to build a budget and savings account, and to develop a plan for self-sufficiency.
The Coalition’s main campus has a fully-licensed daycare and a Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) classroom, which help eliminate the huge cost of childcare for parents who work, are looking for work, or take classes during the day. Our daycare and VPK staff addresses the most critical issues facing our youngsters, such as self-esteem, behavioral problems, and social skills.
