families.

The Coalition prides itself on its ability to keep families together during their time of crisis. In fact, we are one of the few emergency shelters in the area that accepts intact families. In addition to shelter and nutritious meals, homeless families at the Coalition work with a case manager to build a budget and savings account, and to develop a plan for self-sufficiency.

Food, Shelter, & Case Management Education & Job Skills Training Counseling Daycare After School/Summer Programs Community Housing ABCs

Art By Coalition Children (ABCs) is a volunteer-based program that pairs professional artists in the community with children living at the Coalition.

Artists work with the kids to create a wide variety of art, from black and white photography to sculpture and painting.

Often struggling with low self-esteem, the Coalition’s homeless children benefit from the program’s nurturing environment. Through ABCs, they have the opportunity to learn about the arts and have the freedom to creatively express themselves.

For more information about getting involved with the ABCs Program, contact Bonnie Newman at ladybug46@yahoo.com. Volunteer opportunities are available for artists, or people who just want to lend a helping hand.
