There are many ways to support the Coalition's work through a planned gift. Please speak with your financial advisor to make a gift.
MEMORIALS AND TRIBUTES
Consider making a donation to Coalition for the Homeless in honor of a special friend or loved one for a special occasion like an anniversary or holiday. Many Coalition supporters memorialize a friend or loved one with a gift in their name to the Coalition.
Your honoree or closest relative of the memorialized will be notified of the gift, with the amount kept confidential. You will receive a letter of acknowledgement of your gift.
LEAVE A LEGACY
You can name Coalition for the Homeless as a beneficiary in your will, insurance policy, retirement plan or trust. This method of giving permits you to benefit from your assets during your lifetime while making provisions for the Coalition in the future.
Securities can easily be transferred to the Coalition and offer preferred tax advantages to you.
If you have named the Coalition as a beneficiary or need more information about these donor options, please contact Lisa Hicks CFRE, Vice President of Philanthropy, at lisa.hicks@cflhomeless.org or the Development Department at 407.426.1256.
OUTRIGHT BEQUESTS
A bequest from a will or a trust distribution is fully deductible for federal estate tax purposes, and there is no limit on the deduction your estate can claim. In addition, the gift is usually exempt from state inheritance taxes!
Example: GENERAL TESTAMENTARY GIFT: SPECIFIC MONETARY AMOUNT: I hereby give and bequeath XXX Dollars ($XXX) to Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, Inc. 639 West Central Boulevard Orlando, Florida, 32801.
RESIDUARY BEQUESTS
The residue of an estate is the amount remaining after all designated bequests have been
distributed. The exact amount will not be identified until the final accounting is completed. The residue will pass to Coalition for the Homeless as a percentage amount.
Example: GENERAL TESTAMENTARY GIFT: PERCENTAGE OF RESIDUE OF ESTATE: I hereby give and bequeath XXX percent (XX%) of the rest and residue of my estate to Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, Inc. 639 West Central Boulevard Orlando, Florida, 32801.
CONTINGENT BEQUESTS
You can name a secondary beneficiary to receive property in the event the primary beneficiary is not alive.
Example: Insert contingency (e.g., Upon the death of my spouse), the Trustee shall distribute XXX Dollars ($XXX) to Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, Inc. 639 West Central Boulevard Orlando, Florida, 32801.
